Hey 👋🏼 long time no speak…..
As you know by now I suffer with a long term chronic illness called Functional Neurological Disorder.
I’ve been diagnosed for a few years now. I still have a long way to go when it comes to learning what works for me to have more good days then bad.
So I wanted to share with you the 5 things I’ve learnt that help.
One
Vitamins. I don’t take many vitamins but I do however try and have a Berocca once a day. It helps to give me a boost of energy which on some days is very much needed.
Two
Another thing I do every day is to drink Actimel. I can get stomach problems which is a beautiful side effect of FND. However having one of these every day helps boating etc.
Three
Something I do sometimes do when I have brain fog is to make a herbal tea. I found this recipe after a little research and whilst I’m not a huge fan of herbal drinks it does however help to clear the brain fog.
If you want the recipe just ask me in the comments and I’ll be happy to give it to you.
Four
Now I’m not actually that great at this but self care and sleep is really helpful. Taking time to look after myself and get plenty of rest.
Five
Now I know this isn’t for everyone but I do think it makes a difference to me. I try most nights to write in these books at bed time. It helps my brain to relax right before bed and hopefully think more positive. It also helps me to think more clearly and remember to be grateful for the smaller things.
If you have anything that works for you and your chronic illness I would love to know in the comments.
Take care
Much love
Mrs Shep
