New Years Resolutions

As 2020 draws to a close a lot of people will be starting to think about goals, expectations and new years resolutions for 2021.

Before you commit yourself have a read of this…..

It won’t (and if does where have you been hiding?!!) come as a shock to you that 2020 has been a rubbish and very difficult for us all for many ways.

If there is one thing we should take from this year (there’s probably more I’m sure) it’s that we should be a little kinder to ourselves.

Let me explain….

Nothing stays the same in life and we know that nothing is certain. Life has definitely been tough this year and we have been forced to take a ride in the slow lane for a while. We know it’s ok to not be ok and that we can’t possibly juggle everything.

Every year people make New Years resolutions to change themselves but why? Why not just do something to improve the wonderful person you are. Don’t change who you are or set yourself unrealistic goals and expectations. The only thing you are doing by doing that is setting yourself up to be upset that you’ve failed.

So I looked back on 2020 and had a think on what I want from 2021 and this is what I have come up with….

I’ve been so hard on myself this year, I know I am disabled and that I live with a disabling neurological illness but I still try and keep up with everyone else. So for 2021 I want to be kinder to myself. Sounds easy? Not for me. I am my own worst critic. I’ve mentioned in a previous blog that I felt selfish having me time so in view of that I am hoping to change that next year. My bonus goals are to try and get a little fitter and look after my body more. I am hoping by doing so that at some point it might improve my chronic fatigue more.

  1. Great goal to be kinder to yourself. I need to take that on board too. I have new year intentions which I’ll be posting tomorrow. I’ve aimed for alot but aiming high and if I only achieve a few I’d be happy as its a change in the right direction. X
